Watershed groups are community-driven organizations, committed to improving water quality in one or more watersheds. Participants are often a wide mix of local leaders, business owners, farmers, fishermen and private citizens, all who want to make a difference in their watershed.
These groups identify, through public meetings and kitchen-table discussions, environmental concerns and seek to rectify these issues. SSWA would like to recognize the countless hours its volunteers devote to improving the local environment!
The Department of Environment, Labour and Justice (Previously Department of Environment, Energy and Forestry) created this document to help guide community watershed groups in their planning and implementation of all things watershed.
